Vintage: 2021

Variety: Shiraz

Rosenvale Vineyard: Stockwell Rise

Planted: 1994

Clone/Selection: 1127

Rootstock: Paulsen

Vinification: 13 days on skins

Oak: 100% seasoned French oak barrels

Climate: After two consecutive dry vintages, the 2020-21 growing season started off in a similar fashion. A warmer than average November, however mild days and cool nights throughout December and January provided optimal ripening conditions. Timely early February rains provided enough soil moisture relief to carry the vines throughout veraison and ripening. Quality across the vintage was fantastic with great colour and lifted aromatics.

'A delectably expressed shiraz, the inviting bouquet shows blackberry, violet, spicy oak and subtle savoury nuances. It's wonderfully weighted and richly textured in the mouth with excellent fruit power and persistency. Generous and satisfying. At its best: now to 2035.' 94 Points - Wine Orbit, Sam Kim.
